REVIBE

(Realidad Virtual Inmersiva y Bienestar Emocional | Immersive Virtual Reality and Emotional Wellbeing)

A research project that develops an immersive virtual reality (IVR) technique for psychological intervention with couples and the promotion of empathy and emotional well-being

Technological innovation

The application allows two people to interact in a metaverse using virtual reality headsets, where each person is represented with a personalized, realistic-looking avatar that follows their movements and facial expressions, and allows the exchange of identity in real time, through the change of avatars. This allows you to experience the metaverse through another person's body.

Personalised avatars

Integrates Avaturn, an advanced automatic avatar generator from photographs using AI, ready to be used in virtual reality

Advanced embodiment and facial expressions

Integrates the use of QuickVR, a state of the art library based on Unity which offers advance embodiment in a virtual character

Real-time intertaction in the metaverse of users at different locations

Engage into a conversation with another person in the virtual room and interchange the avatar representation

Designed by researchers and technological innnovators

The reserach and ideation of the Revibe project is lead by Dr. Adrian Montesano from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and the software development is lead by Pedro Omedas from XR Consulting

Project partially financed by the UOC eHealth Center
